 What is speech therapy?

A licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) conducts speech therapy sessions with people who have communication challenges. These challenges can include difficulty pronouncing specific sounds, struggles with social skills, children who are not yet speaking, stuttering, and determining communication alternatives (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) for those who can’t speak. The most effective speech therapy includes caregiver and/or family involvement and opportunities for meaningful ways to practice communication skills.

At Sounds & Words Speech Therapy we emphasize the importance of a comprehensive therapy approach. We support each client from all aspects of the communication disorder by individualizing their treatment plan.
